Weddings, Drinking and Me

PJ and I were the bartenders at a wedding reception and dance Saturday night. A few observations:

1. It's a lot of work keeping people refreshed.
2. There are a lot of glasses of beer in ten kegs!
3. It's been a long time since I was sober the whole time and watched how people changed as the evening went on.
4. Most of the music sucked!*
5. I was damn tired by the time we were done.

*If the H ever gets married there will NOT be a DJ handling the music. There will be a genuine polka band from Minnesota to keep the crowd on the dance floor. And they will!

Kind of a Tourist

This week is DakotaFest, a fun filled week of sun and dust at a farm show in Mitchell, SD. We arrived here Sunday and finished getting everything ready to go by 11:30 Monday morning. Then it off for a little sight seeing.

We took a picture of this homeless guy.

We went to the Prehistoric Indian Village.

The Corn Palace. We didn't go in, we stopped at a bar accross the street, however.

Bar Politics

A man wearing a Democratic pin walks into a bar and sees a picture of President Bush hanging behind the bartender.

He calls the bartender over and says, "You should take that picture down. George Bush is a blight upon this nation. He should be impeached."

The bartender, a life-long Republican, is completely offended. "Why you liberal piece of garbage. How dare you come into my bar and tell me how to run my business!"

"Listen, I'm the customer, so I'm always right." the man says. "That picture offends me, so I want you to take it down."

"That's it," the bartender says, "How would you like it if I came into your bar and told you what to do?"

"Well, you'd be the customer, so you'd be right," the man says. "Fine, then let's switch places," the bartender says.

So, they do. The man takes the bartender's place behind the bar, and the bartender walks outside, waits a moment, and then comes back inside.

The bartender sits at the bar and says to the bar, "You should take that pin off. The Democrats are destroying our country with their liberal agenda."

"Sorry," the man says, "but we don't serve Republicans here."

Science Project or Bar Trick?

Went to one of my favorite restaurants tonight. Great place, cold beer and fantastic food. When I walked in I was greeted by the owners, Bart and Beth. They wanted to thank me (?) for helping their son with his 6th grade science project.

It seems that I did one of my favorite bar tricks a year or two ago at their bar and he used it for a science project! It was too cool!

You have to guess what the trick was.

Flenker knows!
