Everyone has Gone Bloody Nuts!
I used to think that Florida had the most loons.
Then the Alaska crazies moved to the top.
Arizona went flying by after the immigration law was passed.
Iowa's right wing zealots who ousted three supreme court justices and have formed a coalition to fight off the ugly, gay loving liberals was, at the top of the heap. Until this:

Bail was set Wednesday at $1,500 for a town of Vermont man accused of shooting his television after becoming enraged by Bristol Palin’s performance on “Dancing with the Stars,” threatening his wife and sparking a 15-hour standoff with Dane County sheriff’s deputies.
So, Wisconsin, home of Bucky the Badger and way too many taverns to count, takes over the top spot. Until I read the news again. Then who knows?

The Iowa GOP is Loony
Adopted in December 1865, the current 13th Amendment of the Constitution prohibits “slavery” and “involuntary servitude” in the United States or any place under its jurisdiction. The Iowa GOP is not trying to overturn this amendment to reinstate slavery. Instead, it wants to reintroduce the “original 13th Amendment” first offered by senator Phillip Reed of Maryland in 1810. The amendment states that “if any citizen of the United States shall accept, claim, receive or retain any title of nobility or honor” from a “foreign power, such person shall cease to be a citizen” and “shall be incapable of holding any office of trust.” In receiving only 12 out of the 13 votes needed for ratification, the amendment was never adopted.
Traditional supporters of the idea are known as “Thirteenthers,” who seek to prevent those with the title of “esquire,” such as lawyers and bankers, from participating in government. But according to its spokeswoman, Danielle Plogmann, the Iowa GOP supports it as an attack on President Obama’s Nobel Prize win:

Unfortunately for them, the Department of Justice looked into whether Obama needed Congressional approval to accept the Nobel under the existing emoluments clause, and based on the meaning of “foreign state” (which would not cover the Nobel Prize Committee) concluded that he did not.

What the World Needs????
Update: What's the point of this?
Pastor Jeff has apologized for the hate that he spewed. I believe him and forgive him. The things that a person believes can change over time.
Elena Kagan's thesis while at Harvard in 1981 is being used by the right to prove that she is a socialist and not fit to be a member of the Supreme Court. Is she a socialist just because she wrote about the failure of socialism while a student?
Why doesn't the right give people a chance to change their minds, as Pastor Jeff does?
Do we really need preachers like Pastor Jeff Owens?

Get Pregnant and Get Rich

At least she's learned how to cross her legs!
It seems that child mother Bristol Palin has found a way to support the baby that she and Levi (his 15 minutes is up) conceived. And she is going to do it the old fashioned way; by telling other teens not to have sex. At $15,000-$30,000 per speaking engagement. Cool.
Of course she wouldn't have this opportunity if her mother, what's her name, hadn't been thrust into the national spotlight by a desperate John McCain. The rww* will point to Bristol and whn** as success stories of good old American capitalism. They worked hard to make good in difficult times.

Return Address Required
Republicans love to talk about how much they love the Constitution and how the men that wrote it were inspired by God. As for those nasty ammendmnets (other than the 2nd one, something to do with guns) sometimes not so much. This is what Rep. Duncan Hunter (R Ca) said over the weekend:
That kind of goes against the 14th Ammendment:
"Would you support deportation of natural-born American citizens that are the children of illegal aliens," Hunter was asked. "I would have to, yes," Hunter said. "... We simply cannot afford what we're doing right now," he said. "... It takes more than just walking across the border to become an American citizen. It's what's in our souls. ..."
That kind of goes against the 14th Ammendment:
All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
