Road Trip

I wonder what these buildings looked like 60 years ago?

That looks very much like my grandma's garage did when I was a kid. One time Mom painted a picture of the farm with the garage in it, which caused Grandma to notice how crooked it was--it was standing only because it was held up by cables tied to trees. She was horrified that people might think badly of her for having a rickety old garage so the next day she hooked the tractor up to it and tore it down. That sort of made mom's painting immediately obsolete.

I have been driving by this farmstead for years. Monday on the way to Sioux Falls, I decided to stop and take a couple pictures. It is in the Little Sioux Valley, one of the prettiest places that I have seen in Iowa. Not far from this location, Inkpaduta and his warriors camped on their way to Spirit Lake, IA when the world changed.
