More on Sarah

You knew that Jackie and Dunlap would weigh in on Sarah Palin:

John and Sarah

Every one's favorite bad pilot and ex POW, John McCain has chosen Sarah Palin to be his vice presidential running mate. After a bit of reading about her background, I have come to the conclusion that John is a bit worried and this cute little Alaskan may be a way to get all for you women to go vote for him.

Check out Deus Ex Malcontent for the best analysis I've found.

Kind of a Tourist

This week is DakotaFest, a fun filled week of sun and dust at a farm show in Mitchell, SD. We arrived here Sunday and finished getting everything ready to go by 11:30 Monday morning. Then it off for a little sight seeing.

We took a picture of this homeless guy.

We went to the Prehistoric Indian Village.

The Corn Palace. We didn't go in, we stopped at a bar accross the street, however.

So, You Want to be a Blogger

From those amazing folks from "Corner Gas" (my favorite TV show that I have to watch on the internet) a short scene about how blogs are born.

On Wisconsin!

I spent the last two days driving to and participating in a tillage conference and demonstration at the University of Wisconsin Arlington Agricultural Research Station. There was an excellent turnout, I met Wisconsin dairy farmers that weren't missing any appendages (and some that were), ate some great food last night in Waumakee, and had a good time.

However, Wisconsin is probably the strangest state ever to drive in. If you want to try and take a shortcut, DON"T DO IT! You will be just like me: lost in space in Wisconsin.

So, here I am tonight, in Prairie du Chien, drinking "Spotted Cow" ale, eating a gut bomb sandwich from a convenience store in the "Oriental Jacuzzi Suite"* at the Best Western.

My life is weird!

*normally $129.90..........but, I didn't pay nearly that much!

Important Update

The past few weeks I have been anticipating this post. I was going to post pictures of newly hatched swallows, but they are just not very attractive after hatching. Now they have grown (at a terrific pace!) and are a bit more fun to look at. I was lucky to get this photograph taken before their parents warned them to get back into the nest.
