Every one's favorite bad pilot and ex POW, John McCain has chosen Sarah Palin to be his vice presidential running mate. After a bit of reading about her background, I have come to the conclusion that John is a bit worried and this cute little Alaskan may be a way to get all for you women to go vote for him.

This feminist, for one, very much resents being put in a position where I highly suspect that a woman has been chosen as the Republican VP candidate simply b/c she's a woman, not b/c of her credentials or anything else. Not aborting her baby when she found out it would have Down's Syndrome seems to be what won her the nomination.
I also find it interesting that the party thinks it's just fine to nominate a woman with a young infant for VP, but that the rest of us women should stay home when we have kids--that whole strategy of allowing individual women to be empowered as "exceptions" while the rest of us are supposed to follow the old rules.
Hmph.
But Burk says she's a gift to the Democratic party, given her lack of any real credentials and the corruption scandals around her.
