NY NOW Chapter Not Happy

The New York branch of NOW (National Organization for Women) is not taking Ted Kennedy's endorsement of Barack Obama very well. Read the press release.

I really hope that was not a factual news item. I'm hoping it was somehow linked to the Onion b/c I, too, would love a woman president just not Hilary. And if a woman's organization were to seriously post that, I'm sad to say I am a woman, but happy to say I am not a paying woman into that organization.

Women who I think would make great presidents: Eleanor Roosevelt (I do realize it's too late and she's dead), Carol Mosely Braun, and there was someone else but the name surpasses me at the moment...and I'm sure it wasn't Nancy Pelosi.

I feel Obama is a great candidate. And I realize Hilary may have the "experience" of the White House, but maybe, just maybe we need someone in there who doesn't have the experience of it to actually make changes this great nation needs. This is why I also loved Howard Dean.

There are many women qualified to be President. I find it unfortunate that the best qualified are smart enough not to run.
